ROIL -Meet the Team

Virginia MacCuspic Office Manager

Originally from Denman Island in British Columbia, Virginia is a ways from home. She joined the team in April of 2015 after moving to Grande Prairie with her husband Rod and daughter Marina. A Bookkeeper with a diverse background in office administration as well as experience running her own business, Virginia’s efforts are core to coordinating Roil Energy’s business. Virginia’s job description quickly grew to include finance, office management, HR, and a host of other critical tasks. Virginia has quickly become a crucial member of our management team

John Bradley Operations Manager

John who was born and raised in Grande Prairie joined the Roil team in May of 2016. John brings with him a journeyman certificate as a carpenter as well as a diverse back ground in management with over ten years of management experience in the modular structures industry as well as owning and running his own successful camp services company for several years. John has helped Roil develop their Modular services division as well as taking on the General Manager role dealing with the day to day operations of the company.

James Rutherford Owner

James left his career in the automotive aftermarket industry and came on board as a partner in May of 2006. Initially starting out as an assistant on a maintenance truck, he later rigged-out Roil’s first Picker/Maintenance tool truck. As partners, Steve and James rapidly grew the company and added additional trucks and pickers. James went on to become a journeyman boom truck operator, working in the field over the course of the next ten years, while running the company’s operations until Roil moved into its new base of operations in October 2014. Presently, as President and General Manager at Roil Energy, James spends most his time in the company headquarters’ main office. James has made the outskirts of Wembley his home where he lives on an acreage with his wife Amber and their three kids.

Ivor Kildal Service Coordinator and Special Projects Supervisor

Ivor is Roil’s longest standing team member, hiring on in December of 2006 as a helper at first.  With a jack-of-all-trades back ground from growing up “on the farm” just outside of Laglace Alberta, he fit in perfectly from the very beginning. Ivor quickly found that he enjoyed welding and metal fabricating and signed-up as an apprentice welder. Since then Ivor has gone on to become a Journeyman welder, Boom truck operator and is working on his pipe fitting ticket as well. We think that’s a lot of achievement for a 30-year old! Ivor currently acts as Roil’s service coordinator and assists in the field with training and larger projects.

Shelby Rutherford Safety and Compliance Coordinator

Shelby – a resident of Wembly – came on board with Roil in April 2008 as a tool truck swamper. Shelby quickly excelled as a picker operator and signed-up for an apprenticeship in Boom Truck and crane operation. Acting as Roil’s primary boom truck operator for the better part of 8 years, Shelby’s role shifted to safety in early 2015 when he became Roils Safety and Compliance Coordinator. Since then, he has become a National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO), and is working towards his Occupational Health & Safety certification as well.

Adam Albright Sales and Marketing Manager

Adam originally joined us as our sales manager in April of 2016, bringing to the table an extensive sales background with over 10 years of experience in the oil and gas, industrial and commercial sales arena. On the day-to-day, Adam can be found doing just about everything from sales to picker lifts, in addition to assisting with service coordinating. He is an active member in the community and is currently acting Deputy Fire Chief with the Wembley volunteer fire department as well as running his own on-line Firefighting gift store. Adam grew up in Beaverlodge and currently resides out side of Wembley with his wife and daughter.
