Powell River Supportive Housing

In June of 2019,ROIL Projects Inc. were awarded a contract to set up a 30 unit 3 story complex for the B.C. government in an effort to provide housing for the homeless in the Powell River area. This was one of many projects that the B.C. government were building in order to help the high influx of homeless in Southern B.C.

What

About the Project

This project was set up on a very tight timeline and had many logistical difficulties due to the accessibility of the location. To get a better grasp of the difficulties the President and General Manager at ROIL decided to travel to site a few days early and make a comprehensive plan. They took 2 days to travel to the site, over 1400 km’s of driving and 2 ferry rides later they arrived on site with tool trailers in tow. ROIL ended up flying in our crew members to limit the amount of travel time required so we could get the initial complexing completed on time. ROIL’s job scope included the setting of thirty 12’ x 60’ boxes as well as the architectural anchoring and curbing to stack the boxes 3 story’s high. In 6 short days, ROIL’s mod crews set and anchored all 30 boxes hitting our time deadline and staying within our original bid quote.
